James Ansell is a multifaceted music industry veteran with a dynamic career spanning nearly two decades. His journey began as the electrifying frontman of Raleigh, NC-based metal band Casualty, where he made his professional debut. Over his four-year tenure with the group, James showcased his commanding stage presence, sharing the spotlight with numerous national touring acts. His versatility shone through when he stepped in for Koch Records artists Within Chaos and joined Windup Records' Submersed on stage to deliver a unforgettable rendition of their hit song "Hollow."

In 2009, James transitioned from the limelight to the creative realm behind the scenes, establishing himself as a sought-after graphic artist and photographer. His keen eye and artistic flair earned him collaborations with rock royalty, including Sevendust, Alter Bridge, Marilyn Manson, Avenged Sevenfold, and a host of other iconic names in the industry.

After a hiatus from performing, James made a triumphant return to the stage in late 2023, joining forces with his high school comrade and regional acoustic virtuoso, Doc Perkins. As lead guitarist and backing vocalist, he helped form the acclaimed Doc Perkins & The Medicine Men. Following a successful year of captivating audiences across the regional circuit, James embarked on a new chapter as a solo acoustic artist.
